Vehicle Modes
Gasoline — for petrol or diesel vehicles. Measures fuel burned to compute economy and total fuel cost.
Hybrid EV — for plug-in or self-charging hybrids. Tracks gasoline and electricity consumption separately, then shows the combined picture.
Full EV — for pure electric vehicles. Measures battery energy drawn to compute electric efficiency and charging cost.
Input Fields
Distance — total trip distance in km or mi (toggle top-right). Use your odometer before and after the trip.
Fuel Used — litres of petrol or diesel consumed. Check your fuel pump receipt or vehicle trip computer.
Fuel Price — price per litre at the pump in your local currency (set symbol top-left).
Battery Used — kilowatt-hours (kWh) consumed from the battery. Found in your vehicle's energy display or charging app.
Electricity Price — cost per kWh from your electricity bill or charging station rate.
Understanding Results
Combined Fuel Economy (km/L or MPG) — how far the vehicle travels per litre of fuel. Higher is better.
L/100km or kWh/100km — energy used per 100 km driven. Lower is better. Standard benchmark for comparing vehicles.
km/kWh — electric equivalent of fuel economy. Higher is better.
Cost per km — total energy cost ÷ distance. Best metric for comparing running costs between vehicles or trips.
Cost per 100km — cost per km × 100. Widely used standard for vehicle running-cost comparison.
Total Trip Cost — total energy spend for the trip (fuel + electricity for hybrid).
💡 Tip for accuracy: Fill up your tank from empty, drive your usual route, then refill and record the exact litres pumped and distance driven on your odometer.
